Brent Goldman appointed Chair of Nexia Australia Board

Nexia Australia has appointed Brent Goldman as Chair of the Nexia Australia Board, effective March 1, succeeding Mal Di Giulio, who steps down after two terms as Chair since March 2020.

Brent is an existing member of the Nexia Australia Board and Partner of Corporate Advisory at Nexia Sydney, where he has worked for 12 years.

Nexia Australia, ranked 14th in the 2025 Australian Financial Review Top 100 Accounting Firms List, is a network of independent firms with offices in Adelaide, Canberra, Darwin, Melbourne, Perth and Sydney, providing Advisory, Tax, Audit, and Personal Wealth services.

Demonstrating his strong commitment to the network and a deep understanding of its strategic priorities, member firms and evolving client needs, Brent currently chairs Nexia Australia’s Sustainability and ESG Group.

Over the past 18 months he has led the development of Nexia’s national Responsible Business strategy and expansion of its Sustainability and ESG service offerings, reflecting growing client and regulatory focus on sustainability and reporting obligations.

As Chair, Brent will build on the strategic foundations established under Mal’s leadership, with a focus on disciplined growth, deeper integration across member firms and leveraging the collective strength of Nexia offices across Australia, New Zealand and globally.

His priorities include enhancing employee experience and delivering a consistent, high-quality and connected client service model across the network.

Brent will undertake a strategy review and refresh for the next phase of Nexia Australia’s development, examining priorities for the network and each firm, their clients and people in a continually evolving operating environment.

Mal will continue as Managing Director of Nexia Perth, where he has worked for more than 30 years, and remains a member of the Nexia Australia Board.

During his tenure as Chair, Mal led the development and implementation of the 2023–2027 Nexia Australia Network Strategy, driving initiatives to further align firms nationally and strengthen market presence and brand recognition.

Chair of Nexia Australia, Brent Goldman said:

“Mal has laid strong foundations for the network during his two terms as Chair through a clear national strategy and improved alignment across our firms. My focus will be on building on that momentum – driving disciplined growth, strengthening integration across the network and ensuring we deliver a consistently high-quality and personalised experience for our clients.

“In a continually evolving landscape, this is an opportunity to refresh our strategy and ensure we remain focused on what matters most to our people, our clients and our network.”

Mal Di Giulio said:

“It has been a privilege to serve as Chair since 2020 and to work alongside our firms across Australia and New Zealand during a period of important strategic development. Together, we have strengthened alignment across the network and enhanced our market presence.

“Brent brings deep experience, a strong understanding of our network and individual firms along with a clear commitment to client service. I am confident Nexia Australia is well positioned under his leadership to continue its growth and progress.”
